Buddhas Life’s Mantra
Greetings on occasion of Buddha Purrnima
The Buddha famously once said that “life is suffering”. While philosophers and historians may have many interpretations for this one liner, but goggle search says, probably what he meant was: “To exist in this world, we must contend with humiliation, broken dreams, sadness, and loss.”
Respecting all views and commentaries, to me however, this is not an absolute comprehension of Buddhas statement on ‘sufferings’.
To me, suffering is not life; It’s a part of life. Life has three components, viz., struggle is the beginning, sufferings could be the middle, and it has to end with success, in some form, or to some extent or the other.
Struggles and sufferings, in fact, are the way to success and happiness.
Fortunately, God has also given all of us some kind of faith and hope, which keeps us afloat when we are passing through our period of struggles and sufferings. Hold on to your faith and keep your hopes alive, and work through your struggles and sufferings, and steadily steer boat of your life towards safe shores of success and happiness.
Lastly, life has many cycles of struggle, suffering and success, and one just has to live one day at a time, with optimism and positivity.
That’s why, religious scriptures gave us a golden mantra….”Live in the present moment.”, and hope for the best.
May Lord Buddha be your guide this Buddha Purnima.
Happy Buddha Purnima!
