HOW DESTINY CHOSE ITS MESSENGER
Destiny has a strange way of announcing its arrival.
With my limited knowledge of politics and history, I am unable to recall any Supreme Court observation or order that has directly benefited the masses to the extent that a single, seemingly casual remark by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, appearing to compare unemployed youth with cockroaches, has indirectly done. That remark, rightly or wrongly interpreted by many, appears to have triggered the emergence of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in May 2026.
Remarkably, in barely two months, the movement seems to have delivered its first public punch through its protest at Jantar Mantar yesterday.
CJP movement, fortunately had a star brand ambassador in Sonam Wangchuk, and his hunger fast at Jantar Mantar protest site lent huge credibility to the cause CJP was fighting for.
Student’s participation and other sundry people’s voices and their participation too had a significant impact to the movement, which kept growing with every passing day.
Ironically, the big Political parties jumped in the fray too and were seen trying to get some mileage with their participation, though it remained purely CJP movement.
Good for the country to see emergence of a purely apolitical movement which dared to question. Hopefully, they may pose themselves as a non-statutory watchdog to question Govt/Political parties of their contributions to the welfare of masses at large.
Almost overnight, many previously unheard voices within the CJP appear to have discovered a genuine purpose in life, viz., to stand up against perceived injustice, challenge the flab that has accumulated in the political system, and strive to bring cleaner, more accountable people into positions of public leadership.
Whether the movement succeeds or not remains to be seen. However, if it succeeds in compelling governments and political parties to introspect, embrace course correction, and place public interest above political expediency, it would send a powerful message that India is a vibrant and confident democracy, one that is never afraid to reform itself as it moves forward.
