Life’s script
All TV serials/ releases on OTT have one thing common in their scripts……leaving the audience hungry at the end of every episode. What next…..how the story line will move further. ……What and how the lead actor/actresses shall respond to situations left unanswered at the end of every episode. With teary eyes, a pent-up curiosity and a heavy heart, audience shall wait for the next episode.......and so on and on.
Now 'what next' is something which is not decided by the lead cast, then and there, and even thereafter by themselves. But it is already thought of and decided by the scriptwriter, and actor/actresses/other cast only have to live their respective roles as assigned to them by the scriptwriter. The synthetic emotions exhibited on the screen by the actor/actress, in the background of appropriate emotions’ supporting music, and in line with the script, have to look as real as to bring the audience on their feet, in every episode, and then wait eagerly for the next episode. Of course, dialogues and the punch lines used in the drama play their own crucial role to keep the audience glued to the 'what next' in the story line, but then that too is a part of the script. In nut-shell, the Reel Life controls the Real Life.
If that is accepted as a matter of fact for what we watch on TV serials/OTT, then isn’t that a case in real life of we human beings too, except that we human beings believe it’s our real reaction/response and we are not following any pre-planned script. Not intending to be fatalist, the matter of fact otherwise is that we all are playing our respective assigned roles, and in the process cry, laugh, suffer, lose, lament, sulk, curse, shout, fight and feel like killing/dumping anything which is unfavourable and not as per our wish and our expectations, but in line with essence of script written for all of us by the supreme scriptwriter.
If we introspect our own respective life, we shall observe that a few years back we had thought of some script for ourselves in our minds and wanted to live that perceived agreed/accepted role, but for the fact that destiny had its own design for us, and the Global Scriptwriter brought some storms in our life that changed the entire gamut of our life then onwards. Aren’t some of us, in the hindsight, happy with the altered destiny we are living today then the destiny we initially planned and thought for ourselves. May be, it is true for some people who moved from good to better/best course of life, as of now, and it may not be applicable to those who moved from bad to worse/worst stage. But in both good and bad cases at any given point of time, it’s finally the words of supreme scriptwriter which is coming true, and which shapes our life, in line with our destiny.
For my own self, I faced severe storms at least 7 times in my career spanning 4 decades, when I thought of quitting, but with positivity and perseverance, I didn't quit, went with the stream, hoping that may be it shall open some new vistas. And yes, the storms that come in our life also bring in new opportunities. Every such storm I faced, in fact, positioned me at a juncture which brought in new challenges and rafting there on successfully brought in name, fame, money and above all a huge sense of satisfaction.
I also have been a witness to few success stories of my friends, and near and dears, where most of them were complacent with the pace of life they were living, but for that 'storm' that came in their life, by way of rejection, dispute, insult, frustration, humiliation, sense of incompleteness they felt inside themselves, and life thereafter had a dramatic change for all the cases I had been witnessed too. Among these successful people I am talking about, three of them happens to be my good friends, and I have closely watched their transition to glory they enjoy today, and the still glorious path lying ahead of them.
Who had steering control in all such cases of success I am talking about? My Friends, NO. Storms in our life take control of our life (steering), put us on the track for the destiny we have to live, and then it works on auto-pilot mode thereafter.
- We all are aware that history is replete with many such success stories, and a lot of autobiography of highly successful people we read bear testimony to Supreme scriptwriter’s designs for such people.
To give just three (3) examples, Gautama Buddha was living a routine life of a Prince and had never planned to quit the kingdom, but for the misery of death and old age phenomenon he witnessed (storm in his life), and then despite his father's insistence otherwise, renounced the life of affluence and went in search of truth, and since then has been a guiding force for millions of people who follows his teachings.
Similarly, Mahatma Gandhi (MG), but for that humiliating train journey experience in South Africa (storm in his life), would have probably continued to pursue his legal profession. But destiny had a different design for him, AND, MG needed an insult, an injury and a humiliation, to make him wake up from the slumber of his routine life, and MG used his pent-up anger and frustration to look outside the routine life, took a decision to return back to India, and join hands in freedom struggle. He too has since been a guiding force for humanity across the globe.
The iconic Steve Jobs, while taking a train journey in Japan, passed through a Buddhist temple and shared with his colleague that once, after returning from India visit, he came that way and cherished to become a Buddhist priest and live in that monastery. But, his friend and Apple’s co-founder Woz called him and sought his help for a specific project. He came back and started work on that project, and eventually got so busy with one after another issues Woz and his team used to escalate to him, that he was never able to pursue his dream of becoming a monk and working with that monastery. Supreme Scriptwriter had an altogether different but a grand design for Steve, and he served humanity much more through product range unleashed by Apple year after year, then probably what he would have done for humanity if he had become a monk.
Amazing, how our lives sometimes take a different course than we could possibly have expected.
