Prayers pays

Prayers pays

Praise the Lord for His grace, for I was brought up in a family which was relatively high on compassion and gratitude quotient. As a result, I had been relatively fortunate enough to withstand the life's hiccups so far, and consequently stayed with my peace of mind in the midst of my storms most of the times.

Besides His grace, on this journey called ' Life', I grew up in the midst of sincere and decent friends, who helped me use the intellect to train my mind to have a holistic view of things and events happening around and which consequently improved on my resilience levels. Frankly speaking, having developed reading habit alone, leading to larger vista, has been the single most important contribution of my friends and well wishers in my life.

Lately, I also learnt the art of saying prayers. Prayers for others whom I do not know intimately. I realized that prayers are surely answered, but through the prism technology. That means, if I pray for well being of my siblings, my neighbours, my colleagues, and even for people I do not know intimately, instead of praying directly for benefit of myself, chances of their being answered are more profound than when I pray for my own-self and my family. My prayers have to necessarily pass through prism, for benefit of others, before I become entitled for God's mercy and blessings for my family.

There are many occasions we come across in a day when we can pray for others. A typical day, for most of us, starts with milkman, newspaper vendor. our domestic help, our cook, our driver and so on. Just silently pray for them. In current style of living, it could be even a Denzo, Amazon, Big Basket, Swiggy, Zomato,  Uber, Ola etc guys also, who bring in delivery of service at our door steps and they too deserve a smile and a prayer.

Your domestic bliss, to a very large extent, depends upon theirs' well being. Or, if I may put that like, " Your own well being depends upon theirs' well being." So, insure your own well being by investing (praying for them) in theirs' well being.

Need I say, the prayer for well being of your domestic help, and her turning up on time at your place every day sets the tone for the day for every family member or it could be mayhem otherwise at home.

Then, do remember to say another silent prayer for well being of your invisible caretakers, like the sweeper who cleans your street, picks up garbage, maintains sewerage systems, people maintaining public gardens, other public places you visit, public transport system, like bus/metro/rail systems, even if they are employed by the relevant Govt. body and they draw their salaries. Your neighbours, your office colleagues, helping staff etc could be the other set of beneficiary of your prayers. The same is applicable to other places of work, like shops, factories etc. too. A farmer, a trucker, an army personnel, people working in R & D could also be beneficiary of your silent prayers.

I call all such support people as Angels (फ़रिश्ते ) whose work and services facilitate a comfortable life for me and my family members, or rather for all of us.

In this context, I am reminded of a quote of renowned scientist Albert Einstein, which goes like this ; " A hundred times everyday, I remind myself that my inner and outer life depended on the labours of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving."

When you do that day-in and day-out, everyday as a matter of habit, you start nurturing your own soul first, besides creating an unseen reserves of prayers, and you do not know when God allows you to draw  a chunk of such unseen prayers you said for others, not at all related to you in any manner, for your own-family’s benefit. These prayers for others create a reserves you can draw upon in case of any unforeseen calamity/eventuality. I term that, in today's terminology,  as 'Cash back' .

Pray, if you may, but pray for OTHERS first, as benefit of those prayers alone come back to you through prism effect.

Have you said your prayers today.

🙏🙏🙏
